Sphero BOLT Programme (DSA)

In this programme, learners will learn how to connect and control their robots with several exciting drive modes, use their robot as a controller to play games, or try out Block Drive to introduce programming.

Using Sphero Edu, a software that supports block-based and javascript programming, Sphero BOLT is a starter robot suitable for beginners to the intermediate level.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding computational thinking and how it impacts our daily lives;
  • Learning how to manoeuvre and control the robot using remote control and coding;
  • Learn about programmable sensors such as compass, light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, motor encoders, and infrared communications;
  • Learn about Coding concepts such as Functions, Variables, Complex Controls (If Then), and Comparators;
  • Taking part in Sphero Global Challenge 2023*.

For ages: 9 and above

*Sphero Global Challenge 2023

IN THIS CHALLENGE, TEAMS WILL DESIGN, PROGRAM, AND ENGINEER THEIR BOLTS TO SOLVE THE ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR MISSION OBJECTIVES:

  • program up to 2 bolts to navigate through wild missions and solve problems
  • harness their creativity and transform bolt as they program it to imitate animal behaviours
  • create and engineer interactions for bolt as part of the mission objectives
