Junior STEMERS Programme

For ages: 4 to 6

Our Junior STEMERS programme aims to introduce the fundamentals of computational thinking and STEM activities through robotics kits to young children. They will be exposed to different types of coding and robotics, such as Matatalab Tale-bot, Lego Spike Essentials and Scratch, to gain different learning experiences.

(A) Matatalab Tale-bot educates the child to learn coding by inputting instructions and getting the robot to move or perform an action. This can be done without screen time, i.e. no laptop or tablet is required.

(B )Using Lego Spike Essential to construct Smart structures and introduce children to key coding concepts, such as events, sequences and loops

(C) Learn Scratch or Scratch Junior, a widely used block-based coding software to design simple and interactive games.

Expected Outcome:

Participants will leave the workshop with a basic understanding of the principles of robotics and computational skills required to design, build, and program robots to accomplish tasks such as avoiding obstacles using if-else statements. They will be equipped with the tools and techniques to troubleshoot and optimise their codes to maximise the performance of the robots.

Fee Structure:

$275 nett for every four (4) sessions attended. Each session is 2 hours. Pricing excludes the competition registration fee, if any.
